A Few Preliminaries ...

   I have to chuckle at the blog title I chose... A California Journey! Barbara and I have lived in California for over 50 years. California is the home of our children and grandchildren. We have made a lot of California journeys together and as a family!
   What makes this trip different is that it is a mixture of PAST and PRESENT! Most of the places we shall visit we have visited before. There are exceptions to this trend and I'll talk about them at the appropriate time. What excites us about this trip is that it will be ... somehow ... a NEW ADVENTURE!

   And so we start to move ... along a 1760-mile loop which will take us through the Mojave Desert, the High Sierra, Western Nevada, Mount Shasta and the San Francisco Bay Area. As I am no longer a wanna-be Texan Trucker, hauling our fifth-wheel trailer with my Ford Diesel F250, we will be making our trek in our little, trusty 2011 Hyundai Tucson SUV. We sold our rig back in 2011. Just makin' life a bit simpler on ourselves, y'all know what I mean? After all, we are in our mid-seventies now!
   We do hope y'all will join us on the trip! It should be an interesting jaunt through both time and space!
